Cannot get Sky Discovery plus to activate ation

Hi - I have trying to set up an account via sky since Nov and have not cracked it yet.  In the main I have gound Sky to be fine and helpful but I'm afraid they get at least 10 demerits for this shambles.

I've been trying for days to activate discovery plus..but sky keeps sayin cant do it yet ..try later or some waffle....whats point of giving us 12 months free if they don't activate it...anyone know how I do this

On my issue I get please try later on the web site. If I copy the link and paste it into notepad I get "not eligible". 
I haven't got the energy at the moment to spend time I won't get back 😢 to call Sky

This is utterly ridiculous. Signed up, received email from sky but cannot find where to input activation code anywhere.  This needs sorting, the amount of money I pay to Sky & it has taken best part of an hour to get nowhere. No such problems with Prime, Netflix etc.

Go in your app my sky...click on sky q and discovery plus package...it takes you straight through to it...
