A quiet place 2 - no UHD option

Anybody know why this isn't available in UHD? It's a very poor product offering to not show a new film in UHD that has been available on rental / purchase in UHD  on sky store.

I do not know if this is the case for this film but sometimes SKY has delays in the renedering of UHD versions and can take a day or two to apper after the HD versions appear.

The UHD rendering takes considerably longer to process and I think like many computer processes sometimes can fail and need to be restarted adding to any delays.

I do have this recorded in HD. But I'll be waiting a few days to see if it does arrive in UHD.

I always find this rather laughable. The release pipeline is scheduled in advance - and the files are provided by the distributor ahead of time. All other digital retailers offer titles at the highest available quality from day one (SD, HD, UHD SDR and UHD HDR if available) and yet Sky have a strange habit of letting the UHD copies go rogue for a number of days or weeks, or they never arrive at all.

Delay is different to non-arrival: it's within the gift of the production/distribution company to grant or deny a UHD release to any particular distributor.

Completely agree d2h sky's UHD is generally a complete joke whether it be a movie or series we pay an additional premium on top of the subscription but are a lot of the time made to wait for the premium version

I am not sure when it was uploaded but I note that A Quiet Place II is now available in UHD

(SDR at least - I don't have an HDR box to know if that is available)

I have to admit I do find it odd that SKY do fairly frequently have a lag between HD versions & the UHD. You can put the very odd one down to unexpected circumstances but it does seem to happen more than that.

I don't know  where the problem(s) lies (e.g. late delivery from distributors, poor planning, server problems which I guess may all be a contrbuting factor) but I do think they should be able to do better.

However, in reality, after waiting many weeks from theatrical release to when they appear on SKY an extra day or  two shouldn't really  matter, even though it may be disappointing.

Yes, agreed. These thinhs must be agreed weeks in advance so how they can't do it is simply poor planning in my eyes. Can you imagine them not offering a UHD option on sky store the day it was released on apple tv etc. there would be no chance of it happening!!
