why cant I add a name to my account

I am trying to add a flat mates name to my account so they can discuss upgrades etc, but it wont allow me to do it? as its not married or divorced change..has anyone else managed to do this??

Sky accounts are for individuals only.  There is no joint option and they cannot be changed to someone else.

If someone else knows the telephone password then they can perform certain actions but cannot cancel etc.
