termination of service

I terminated my service within the 'cooling off'   period and was assured I would not be charged cancellation fees.  But I have been invoiced for these charges with the threat of Bailiffs.  How do I  make Sky stop this?

Re: termination of service

@mm56 Nobody knows what you did, if you did it right or wrong and if sky have got to that stage you have possibly been ignoring it for a while, if it goes to collections then it's already out off the sky hands and fee's pile on very quickly. Best you call sky, they may not even speak to you at all!

@mm56 do not ignore this as things can get pretty serious if ou do. If you havent already done so write to Sky disputing the debt with the date you told them you were cancelling within the 31  day cooling off pe riod or the date you ordered a new service from another ISP using the One Step Switching Service. This link contains the address How to make a Sky complaint | Sky Help | Sky.com

If you and Sky cannot come to an agreement or 8 weeks has passed you have acce ss to an independent arbitor which is explained if you follow thelinks above. Bailiffs are only involved if Sky get a court judgement which you have an opportunity to defend. If debt collectors become involved tell them you are didputing the debt. You can get free expert advice from Citizens Advice, Step Change or the National Debt Line.
