sky reneging on an agreed deal

I agreed a deal with sky one month before renewing my contract. They sent me an email that bore no resemblance to the price agreed over the phone. I sent them an email and told them to amend their email. No reply. I assumed wrongly they were going to do the right thing and set up the price as agreed. Did they? Like Hell. They were charging a lot more. I realised this a few months later. Spoke to them and they refused to correct their mistake, and told me that I could terminate the contract as they had not fulfiled their part. I dont want to leave, just for them to do the right thing and charge the agreed price.

Anyone had this issue?

It's unfortunate that you didn't realise until a few months later. There have been a few instances of similar problems reported where Sky have changed the billing to reflect what was agreed, presumably after Sky listened to the call recording. Sky don't use email as a general, means of contact which I imagine is why there was no reply.

So the reason you wouldn't hav got a response initially is because you can't generally contact Sky by email. Replying to their generic email likely would have either bounced-back or just gone into a generic mailbox no one would read.

I'd suggest raising a complaint with Sky. They can listen back to the call where you agree the initial deal, and people have reported they have honour it based on what was actually said on the call.
