Update - Spoken to millieandbailey, after a few checks, we confirmed the current billing and discussed what to expect with the future billing 🙂

Re: phone payments
As you have a direct debit setup you didn't need to make the payment as you did as it was to late for this bill which is why it has carried over to next months. If you want your payment returned you will need to call Sky on the free 150 number.
Going forward you do not need to manually pay the bill yourself.

Re: phone payments
thank you for such a quick response, but im still confused, so theyve taken £40 to then say i have to pay double next month, so that £120 for 2 months phone bill when it should only be £40? i paid the bill as soon as it came through so how could i have been late to it?

Re: phone payments
The first two bills are always higher due to the date period they cover (longer than the usual 4 weeks) as you can read about here, halfway down the page here:

Re: phone payments
My bill is to cover a month at a time so is £40 a month, the bill said it was £40 so i paid it and then went up to £80 vut also says when i go back to my past bill that it was paid and no amount is due. so i understand what youve said there but id doesnt make sense for my plan, my first bill only covers the month and then the same for the next and so on. they dont cover any longer than a month at a time

Re: phone payments
To get you some help with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who will be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to 24 hours to be contacted via this.
This link explains how this works:
https://community.sky.com/t5/Did-you-know/Escalating-a-post-to-a-Sky-expert/ba-p/3711147
When the chat bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or it will be automatically closed. This isn't a live chat so replies are not instant.
