Hi,
I got my first bill on Tuesday after my service was activated and the direct debit is due to come out on the 17th September.
However, I've already made allowances for this bill so I'd like to pay it before the direct debit so I know its done and dusted.
If I pay online by debit card today will this mean the Direct Debit for the 17th September won't be taken and the next bill on 3rd October will be taken as normal by Direct Debit?
This may seem an odd question but my previous provider also allowed extra payments but if you paid after the bill was produced they would take the direct debit for the amount on the bill anyway and then credit the next bill!!
Thankyou

If you really do want to pay it by card today then there is a chance it will still be taken so should this happen you will see a credit for the overpayment added to your account and that can either be refunded or can be used to pay the next bill.

you can put as much credit on as you wish which will be deductible before a dd is taken but you need to make sure payments cover the full amount
personally though I concur with @caesarome but the decision is yours
