left sky 7th October through switching. Was out of contract. Broadband was cancelled but not TV. WHY
Sky was notified on 23rd September that we were leaving. Through switching! Switchover date was 7th Oct., a/c for sky was paid up until 26th Oct. We received a refund for cancelled broadband. Nothing for the screening servicetv. We do not have sky Glass! started getting emails stating that our payment was overdue, even although sky had sent an email stating Thanks for returning their equpment. this went on for 2 months and then got an email stating that they had sent it to a debt collector for collection. Paid the amount even although we did not owe it. Never been in debt! would like your comments,as we are in our seventies.

@Goofey Switching service only covers broadband services it doesn't extend to tv services it's the customers responsibility to cancel such service
the email received thanking you for returning equipment was for broadband

Unfortunately as @SKY1992bf has correctly indicated you did owe it as you hadn't cancelled the TV subscription by switching your broadband.

As above, your new provider cannot cancel your existing TV contract.
As it stands you are likely to still have a Sky TV contract. (Unless it was eventually cancelled due to non-payment)
If your new provider advised they would cancel your TV services then your complaint is with them...

Re: left sky 7th October through switching. Was out of contract. Broadband was cancelled but not TV.
'One-touch-switch' is specific to broadband, and doesn't cover subscription television even where both of the ISPs involved are also television providers (Sky, Virgin and BT/EE). There's no mechanism within the switch process to end a television contract, but unfortunately the information provided by the ISPs tends to overlook this.
Technically Sky Television and Sky Broadband are entirely separate products, even though they can be ordering at the same time with the contracts running concurrently.
