i am being charged for sky sports i did not ask for it

at some point Sky added Sky Sports back to my subscription, I want to remove it as its £19 per month with total bill now being over £100 per month i am wondering wether after over 25 years of using Sky , why newer customers are paying less.

To remove part of your TV package you need to give Sky 31 days notice. Be aware if you have 'in contract' discounts you may not be able to remove them. Also make sure cancellation of a certain add-on doesn’t cancel another part of a discount. You may be able to remove it from your MySky account at

Better discounts are offered to new customers as an incentive for them to join. You probably benefited from one back in the day. 

If you choose to jump ship and go with another provider then in 18/24 months you'll be in the same position and be able to return to Sky as a new customer.
