i've had an email from sky/giftcloud saying i've got a £85 gift card to use for anything i choose. when i signed up for sky it did mention about a gift card so unsure if it is a scam or not.

It is legit as you can read via the article on the Sky website:

You msut have signed up via somewhere like a comparison website where such an offer was running.
