ending a sky contract

hi,i have  sky multiscreen, sky go extra, sky sports complete pack, sky signature, sky kids, plus broadband and phone at £150 per month.i just rang sky this evening(7.01.2023) as i wanted to terminate my contract, hoping for a better deal down the line or try BT or virgin instead....But because i still have 12 months left of my contract i am not allowed to end my contract because of something to do with TV ?...From my  previous call i was told i would have to pay the £171 termination fee but i never went ahead and left it until this evening.....surely i have a right to end a contract with sky if i pay the termination fee.can anyone enlighten me on this regards.

@neanderthal12  When you agreed to the discounts you also agreed to be tied into the minimum term, Sky don't have to allow you to cancel early, it's in the T & C's you agreed to when you took the services.

For broadband you can choose another provider and ask them to take over the line, however, if you're also in a minimum term with that also there will likely be terminations fees applied.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Hi @neanderthal12

"To cancel Sky TV, you need to give 31 days’ notice, which can’t end before your minimum term finishes unless you’re within your cooling off period."
