another question about still being charged for HD and UHD

Hi all.

So, going through my bill I noticed we are still being charged for HD and UHD services.

Now I can understand with UHD as those only a few or some channels and services have it but with HD, 

I can't understand why we're being charged for this service as most BBC, ITV and Sky have shut thier channels down and are now HD but if you went onto freesat, you don't pay for the service?

as most channels are going to be in HD, shouldn't this charge be now removed from our bills.

I did read about SES charging extra to use HD transponders but don't know how true this is as i'm sure the other services using Astra would be charged the same.

The HD sub is a prerequisite for UHD.

HD only covers Sky channels - you get SD for many channels if you don't have it.

The 'free' channels are in HD without the sub.
