Won’t let me change my payment date.

Hi 

 

I am trying to change my payment date but it won't let me.

Does anyone know why this might be?

I am not a customer. I have been with Sky for 14 years.

 

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Are you trying to change it too near a pending bill? Bills are generated 14 days before the selected payment date.

Hi,

 

Thank you for your reply. 

my bill is not due until 7th September, so more than 14 days away.  

It says that I can't change the date until 20th august so perhaps I need to wait until tomorrow?

If you can't change the date tomorrow then give Sky a call to see if they can do it for you.

 

Do note that after you change the date the next bill will be different as it might cover a longer date period than the usual month.

So just to update, called Sky yesterday who very adamantly told me that I couldn't change my payment date until next month?! 

Something about how their system is set up/my payment period 😵💫

 

I explained to her that I did not get paid until the 18th of the month of struggle to make the payment on the 7th of September. She very unhelpfully suggested I just pay "a bit" on the 7th and then they would chase me for the rest 🤣

 

after a very frustrating phone call I just resigned myself to the fact that I would have to find the money and make the payment on the 7th.
Then this morning I logged into my account and lo and behold I was able to change the date.

 

so moral of the story, don't call Sky if you need help!

Computer said no until today...

 

However, remember that changing your payment date doesn't just change your payment date - it completely recalculates and the next bill could be smaller or larger.

At least you got it changed but do remember as I said above your next bill will be higher than usual but should drop back to the normal amount on the following months bill.

Hi I would like all payments to be made on the 22nd of every month as I won't be able to pay unless its on these days

If you are a new customer then you can change the date once the first two bills have been paid, you can do this via the MySky app or online here:

 

https://www.sky.com/myaccount/bill/change-payment-date

 

You should also have a payment method set up like a credit or debit card or a direct debit so that the payment is taken automatically from you so there is no need to make the payment yourself each month.
