I've downgraded and yet they want them back? After reading this they said they won't, also the 2nd of the boxes I payed £60 for to have a additional box, surely they can't take it back, the first one maybe......but none of them should according to this.....

Hi @Glenno88 All Sky Q equipment is on loan, any money paid was just an non-refundable admin fee. Please see page 5 of the terms and conditions you agreed to when you took out the subscription.

Robbery, that's not right, paying 60 quid for something to then send it back for free, and you pay £15 a month multi screen for the privilege. Crazy

Hi @Glenno88 Then why did you agree to the terms? I know, nobody reads the small print, but sometimes it matters.

Re: Why is sky asking for my 2 mini boxes back? 1 of which i payed for!?
The posts above accurately describe the situation: it's been raised many, many times in the near-decade since the Q television platform was launched, and the answer is always the same. No matter what anyone paid out up-front (or subsequently for an additional Mini box) it wasn't a hardware purchase price, and all Q hardware is to be returned at the end of the contract.
Probably also important to note that as all Q boxes are both loaned (so can't be legitimately transferred) and have zero functionality either without a subscription or in use for anyone else, there's very little point retaining them.

Its principle, call me old fashioned but if you payed for summit you got it!! if you buy a box it's yours surely, whether it's use to you or not, and it is use to me as my parents have it for there multi screen, which looks like I have to take back off them so I dont get charged for my box I own and paid for.......and if it's been discussed time and time again it's obvious alot of other customers are very confused and annoyed by this

It may be principle but not in the eyes of the terms and conditions which are below, although I tend to agree sky seems to have left themselves open to interpretation on the first bullet point
Ownership of equipment and the viewing card
• Sky Q boxes are loaned equipment supplied to you at no cost (my bold) and remain the property of Sky (or another
Sky group company) at all times.
• You must not dispose of loaned equipment and we recommend you insure it against loss, theft or damage
for the full replacement value.
• You must return or allow us to collect loaned equipment when reasonably requested to do so. This is
the case even if it is being used by you to receive third party retailed content and you are responsible for
managing any subscriptions with third parties.
• If you fail to return the loaned equipment you will have to pay a non-return charge. For more information
about these charges go to sky.com/nonreturncharge.
• Payment of the non-return charge does not transfer ownership of loaned equipment to you and you are
still required to return the loaned equipment to us following our reasonable request.
• If your Sky services end or are restricted we may disable the relevant loaned equipment to stop it from
working. When we do this to a Sky Q box you won’t be able to receive any content including free-to-air
channels or other third party content and services.
• If we have requested that you return loaned equipment to us and you have failed to do so we may take
legal action to recover it from you.
• The Sky dish is not loaned to you and becomes your property to keep on installation.
• SSSL owns the viewing card(s) sent to you and if asked, you must return it at the end of the relevant
subscription or if a replacement is sent to you.
• You must tell us immediately if the viewing card is lost, stolen, damaged or faulty.

You didn't buy it, and so don't own it.
You paid a fee to facilitate loan of hardware to use in consuming your own Sky subscription content.

Certainly, but as Q is approaching end of life as a platform its distribution model is very unlikely to change now.
