Want to cancel but cant as still in contract

I have just had a notification from my bank that my Sky bill is higher than normal.  £188.13 has been taken out rather than the £95.  This has left me short.  Told I can not cancel as still in contract, but furious as told part would be refunded by one Sky rep, and then told no refund would be issued by another.  I may just cancel the DD with my bank.  Really annoyed about the whole situation

@Emma762 Don't cancel your direct debit. That will cause more issues for you. What do your bills show as to why you've been charged so much? Only then can you know which person you spoke to is wrong. If you have been overcharged then you are entitled to a refund of that amount.

As for cancelling - unless you are in your first or last 31 days of a TV contract you are unlikely to be allowed to cancel by Sky.

You can't just cancel your direct debit when you are in a legally binding contract with Sky for their services. All that will do is put you in debt to Sky, they will charge late payment fees and it will negatively affect your credit rating.

You can view your Sky bill via the MySky app or online here:

You can also view previous bills so what is the difference between this bill and your previous one ?

As above, you first need to find out why the charge is higher than normal - your itemised bills will detail...
