Just tried cancelling Sky Cinema by calling the customer services. The woman on the end said she could cancel it for a fee for ending early. I said, it's supposed to end next month but I don't want to continue with it past then, so asked to cancel it from it's end of contract date. She said she'd just check offers for my account. Waited 5 minutes and she'd said after cancelling my Sky Cinema, the cost would be XX and I asked what was included, and she mentioned everything I already had without Cinema but with the inclusion of Sky Broadband. I said I didn't want Broadband, and she kept persisting that this was a better offer than anywhere else. I kept saying I don't want it (I live in a rural area, the broadband isn't better on any network, as BT won't update our cables). She basically wouldn't take no as an answer and said to contact them again in June. She wouldn't accept the cancellation as I wouldn't accept the broadband offer.

I would try again later and heopefully you will get through to someone who is more helpful and if you don't you might want to register a complain given the time and date you made these calls so if needs be they can lsiten to what was said you:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint
Usually 31 days notice is required to cancel Sky Cinema so I'm not sure where this cost is coming from because if you are cancelling early then it should not be much is your contract ends for this sometime next month, this is known as an early termination fee so where this broadband fits in I haven't a clue !

Call back on Friday and just give notice to end Cinema. (You do not have to take broadband)

In theory, you have to give at least 31 days notice. But just do it Friday and there's no argument...

Re: Tried to cancel Sky Cinema but got told that I had to get broadband to replace it
That seems to be the standard with CS now - offer more services. I wanted to renew the TV only contract but they tried tagging on Broadband, Cinema & Mobile to 'reduce cost'. Not what I wanted, in the end I had to cancel to get any discount.
I moved from mobile last Nov due to poor network while out & the BB speed would be terrible here.
I don’t work for Sky.
If I have helped then please leave a like.

I made the call today and there was no problems. No fees either. It was all sorted in a record time of 4 mins on call.
