Too many Sky VIP email in breach of GDPR regulations

I only just joined Sky TV and i am getting daily emails about my first reward, a free film. Same email EVERY day and no link to unsubscribe in clear breach of the GDPR regulations. Beginning to regret this nightmare already. Can anyone help? GDPR quoted below...

You must give people the chance to opt-out of every subsequent message that you send.

You must make it simple for customers to change their mind and opt-out or unsubscribe. For example, in subsequent messages it should be possible for them to reply directly to the message, or click a clear ‘unsubscribe’ link.

You shouldn’t ask people to create an account in order to unsubscribe, or ask them to log into their existing account to change their preferences. This is not considered a simple way to opt-out of your electronic mail marketing.

Very good, done that. No idea if it will work.

Still does not answer why Sky seem to be in breach of ALL the GDPR regulations I pasted in my post

I've checked the mails I've received - they all have an unsubscribe option.

However, contact their DPO as per their PN if you have an issue.

You'll have to take it up with Sky's DPO.  They may not regard it as a marketing mail and may believe there's a legitimate interest as it's related to your account.

The sentence towards the top would seem to suggest that's the case.  Might be interesting to see if the ICO agrees ; )

Yeah, I've changed my preferences to see if that works but the mails are still in breach of every point covered in the code I quoted verbatim in the OP.

Aside from that, who in their right minds send the same ***** email every day over such a piddling issue such as my access to a free film? It is the equivalent of of the obsequious shop assistant asking if they can help every 15 seconds when I've told them I'm just browsing. A complete turn off.

I suggest they're not in breach...  (It's not a marketing mail)

...however, repetition may dillute the legimate interest argument.

Fair enough, I'd argue it was very much marketing - 'look at us giving you free stuff - WHY HAVEN'T YOU ACCEPTED IT'

Hey ho, just can't stand my Inbox being full of *****. Their marketing is working only maybe not in the way intended.

If it bothers you then your next port of call is their DPO.

...and then the ICO if you want to escalate it...

Re: Too many Sky VIP email in breach of GDPR regulations

How is it a breach of SAR?

They have not shared your data, you have agreed to a sky account and opted into receiving emails and offers.

So you can unsubscribe

It's not a breach of data if you have opted into an agreement with them for a product and service
