Switching from BT to Sky - BT still taking payments from me despite account closed
I switched to Sky from BT in January 2024 but they still continue to take direct debits from me. I have made a complaint to them but want to check that it should have been their responsibility to stop the direct debit not Sky's or mine as they have also confirmed through their tech team that I have had no service from them since January 8th . They have taken nearly £800 over this period !

If the line was 'taken over' then BT should have cancelled the line and stopped billing.
Unfortunately, as can be quite common in cases like these both sides will blame each other.
But if you transferred the phone number then I think BT have a weak argument as they can't claim to be 'unaware'.
