Still not received my refund, account is in credit. Was told it would be put in my account but it h,

When cancelling I was assured I wouldn't have to phone again, that the refund would be automatic, I explained I had never even plugged a landline in so I didn't really understand why they had to take payment despite me giving them more than enough notice

Your post is difficult to understand. 
What service have you cancelled? 
What is the significance of a landline not being plugged in?

sky broadband package, they said they had to take payment despite me giving more than six weeks notice in case there were calls or things that would incur extra charges made on the account and that I would be refunded. I have not received a refund just a credit note, but I have moved and will not be getting sky broadband again so the credit is basically useless

Refunds can take up to 6 weeks from your last day of connection providing the payment method is still active on your Sky account. If your payment method has been cancelled Sky will have to manually raise a cheque and post it to you so it’ll take longer.

If you wish we can help to try to get it refunded within 3-5 working days via the Messaging Team on here. Let us know on this thread if that’s what you want to do.

I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.

You need to watch out for a post from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread fairly regularly.
