I received an email telling me I'm supposed to receive compensation to my bank account or cheque wirhin 30 days, I waited 30 days and I phoned sky and they told me to wait another 3-5 days for the cheque to be sent out or for it to be sent to my bank account. After the 5 days I phone again and they tell me that the cheque is being sent out and to I have to wait another 1-3 days and yet again still nothing and I know if I phone again they'll just tell me another 1-3 days

It would normally also there show that the refund has been issued to your bank account or via a cheque if your previous payment method is not available.

I don't think so I've had a couple emails telling me it'll go to my bank account or cheque sent out, I organised with sky themselves what bank card it'd go to already or where the cheque would be sent to

Just been off the phone with them again, they have no said that'll it'll take 14 to 21 days for the check to be sent out. Getting beyond a joke now

The information you are giving is not actually how things work in reality.
I am expecting a refund from sky for an over payment and also the speed guarantee compensation, both are which detailed in my account.
I have not cancelled the card they have been using to take my Direct Debit out but I have now been told THREE times that they are processed my refund, this has been going on for months, every time I chase they repeat this process and they never pay the money back.
They said the last step would be to send a cheque which i'm guessing they will never send out as well.
Sky really are the pits.

If Sky has initiated the refund 3 times and it hasn't happened, there's clearly an underlying issue of some sort with your account. That's not the norm, but we've seen it reported before albeit very rarely.
A refund by cheque should be ok, as it doesn't rely on either your bank or card details.

So why are the experts on here saying that as long as you haven't cancelled your payment method they can issue a refund that way then?

Did you miss the bit of my post which said problems with a refund via your payment method are rare?

@CazzieBee because that's how they do it, but a credit has to be applied to your sky account first, so is there a credit showing on your sky account?

Yes, there is.

No, I didn't miss anything. all I'm saying is the advice given on here isn't actually happening in reality.
They tell me they have what they need to refund me but never do.
