You need to call Sky and give 31 days notice.

@Baillie59

Having to give 31 days notice will mean you're likely to be charged for an additional month or at least part month. To cancel it immediately the free trial ended you needed to have cancelled the same day it was added on.

Re: Sky sports

If this is true then it's false advertising on Sky's part to offer a "free month". That really seems impossible to achieve under this scheme. I would call this sharp practice and smacks of dishonesty.

Nothing dishonest. If the customer takes the trial, cancels it immediately giving the appropriate notice, then part way through the month thinks "I like this, I want to keep it" then they can contact Sky and cancel the cancellation and perhaps negotiate a discount for the following 24 months.

Re: Sky sports

Sky should make clear, when making the offer, that it can only be cancelled, to get a "free month", if that is done immediately on signing up. If they don't do that it's sharp practice.

I don't disagree with you there. If that offer was made to me I'd be asking what happens at the end of the trial and what are my options at that point.

Re: Sky sports

I had an install and the engineer asked if I wanted free sky sports for 2 months. After the 2 months I would get a call asking if I wanted to keep it or not. There would be no charge but I haven't heard anything and have been charged for my next month. Who do I contact ?
