Is removing Eurosport channels plus making Paramount + unwatchable through constant adverts an improvement.?

Those were decisions made by Warner Bros Discovery Inc and Paramount Global respectively.  Neither Eurosport or Paramount+ is a Sky brand or product.

Although they blame others for these changes they had the opportunity to compensate for the changes which unlike other providers they have failed to do

Very Poor attitude to their loyal customers imo.

Re: Sky signature price rise

Sky signature is currently £36.50 with an increase of £4, to £40.50 which is more than 10%, unless my maths is wrong, please someone tell me either way.

Hi @Jafooly   That would be true if you only had Sky Signature and absolutely nothing else. The 10% threshold is on the total list price.

Hi @MightyQuinn

where does it state that, Really want to get clarification on this, spent 2 hours on the phone to sky yesterday who apparently have not had anyone else question them, they were making figures up as they went along but they stated the price is against the basic pack price.

The contract under 11.7 is

11.7. During the minimum term, unless it is for a reason set out in condition 11.8 below (where the following increase

limits do not apply), we may increase the then standard price of each TV subscription service only once in any

12 month period and the increase will not be more than 10% or the increase in the UK Retail Price Index over the

12 months before we tell you about that price increase, whichever is greater. In addition, any price increase for a

TV subscription service will be delayed so as not to apply during the first 60 days of your minimum term in which

case the 12 month period referred to will start on the date your price would have increased but for the delay.

The limits on the timing, frequency and amount of any price increase in this condition are referred to as “price

protection”.

11.8. Price protection does not apply as a result of:

(a) A change in the law or a request or requirement from a regulatory authority (including any changes in value

we will all have a different view but the definitions and the way this reads to me, it is against the basic package price not any or all extras you have, and before any discount.

Hi @Jafooly   So, has Sky refused your request to cancel your subscription?

Re: Sky signature price rise

Yes, they can increase, which is why I have left them, they wanted to increase by subscription from  £53.50 for TV only to £85 in March with another increase in April

They couldn't offer me a deal to keep same package and wanted £45 a month to watch essentials, which is basically freesat channels

Re: Sky signature price rise

They have said they cannot cancel my subscription now but have put a cancellation in place when my min term ends in September, however I verbally gave them notice 24.02 of cancellation, have also sent an email stating I am cancelling, why and what date I will be unplugging my Q box.

however Prior to them refusing my request, I did speak to someone, explained everything, went through it and they agreed after apparently checking, confirmed I could cancel my subscription as the increase was more than 10%. Then another person who was to process the cancellation got confused and I ended up speaking with someone else who then said they would not cancel anything now.

@Jafooly I'd be inclined to raise a formal complaint. It doesn't sound as though Sky have processed a 31 days notice cancellation. Unplugging your Sky Q box is meaningless.

How have other providers compensated their customers? As I see the same complaints on Virgin Media and BT/EE's forums about the loss of channels and prices still going up.

Re: Sky signature price rise

According to the Mirror newspaper Virgin we're offering customers on their Sports package a free upgrade to include TNT channels.

However, I have seen a letter to a colleague of mine who has Virgin of an offer on TNT of £14 p.m. which is certainly better than the price Sky offer of £30 p.m.

The original story actually said 'selected customers'.

But technically not the same offering. The Sky version is TNT on the EPG plus Discovery+ Premium where Virgin is just the EPG. I suspect most people value the EPG more and in that case Virgin's deal is pretty good, but it's worth remembering it's a different offer.

Re: Sky signature price rise

I've complained to Sky about the upcoming price rises. I took a contract out in November 2023, they increased the standard price in February 2024, deferred April 2024 increase until December 2024 and have announced further increases in April 2025.

As per their T&C's of 'only one price increase in a twelve month period' I complained about the first two price rises in a ten month period and the time of 4 months between the second and third price rises.

Sky's response after a week of phone calls and emails back and forth is 'tough'.  So I've cancelled and will never return.
