I referred my neighbour to sky & was told to fill in the refer a friend information. We did that & waited & waited, yet received nothing.
After a couple months I contacted sky to be told we've already had our referral fee then found out that my nephew who works for sky customer services in Sheffield is the lead name on the account for some reason & he's the one who received it. My question is, is this right with your policy that an employee of sky can obtain money without the customer's knowledge & nothing to do with the referral?

The account holder is responsible for the account and all actions on the account

@Becks1109 if the account is in your nephews name he is the one who will get the referral fee as he is the account holder. I am assuming that the account is not a staff account

My nephew works for sky, he is the account holder but does not pay the bill. He told us he was changing it bk to my name and hasn't done so. I called yesterday and was told I could not cancel or change the account. So if I cancel my direct debit, does that mean my nephew will be responsible for the remainder of the time left in the contract with you?

If you mean with Sky (we're customers here) then yes. If the account is in your nephew's name, then obviously he will have received the introduction reward. Who pays the bill is irrelevant. The accountholder is responsible.

@Becks1109 Yes the account holder is responsible for everything associated with the account
but note you won't be able to sign up in your name at the same address whilst the account is still active
