Sky cancelled on me

Hi , I'm so angry . I started receiving emails from Sky saying they see I want to join Sky TV. I said I'm always with Sky 13 years and I'm fine with my 2 boxes.  The Sky person called Suzanna kept emailing back to tell me to confirm that its me . Long story short they cancelled my account and closed it down . I rang twice today . They said ring back on Monday, I said that is Christmas day!!!  I can't believe it.  Its the weirdest thing ever . I'm woth then 13 years and I never requested a cancellation.  I've no Sky TV all Christmas now.  My bills are paid up to date. In fact I'm really upset.

No need to wait til Wednesday. If you have to call Sky we’ve been informed the phone lines will be open:
Christmas Eve ~ 0900 til 1800
Christmas Day ~ 0900 til 1800
Boxing Day ~ 0800 til 2000
New Years Eve ~ 0900 til 1800
New Years Day ~ 0800 til 2100
Other days will be normal hours.

I agree the full story may shed a bit more insight into what has actually happened as this seems a bit strange.

Mark this is the full story . I started to receive emails from a sky girl called suzanna asking me if I wanted new services .I said I'm fine with my 2 boxes.  She kept asking me to confirm that it's me.  It was the weirdest thing ever. St first I thought it was a scammer till I rang them .

I then received more emails saying I'd to confirm that it was me, I went onto my sky app... confirmed my details . 

Suddenly I received a text saying they've cancelled my sky and sent out packaging to post back my sky boxes. I'm with them 13 years (vip) lol.... I rang again nearly crying to put my sky back on , the girl said she can't because we closed down your account completely.  I was like what ????, why? She said call back Monday..I said that's Xmas day.  My bills are up to date and I never requested any of my sky to be cancelled. Its the weirdest most  horrible thing sky could do.  Il be on the phone to them first thing Wedbesday and il be demanding compensation of some description. No tv all Christmas for NO reason.

I'd suggest raising a complaint with them as well. It's best to not do this on the phone with customer services but to contact the complaints department via one of the four methods outlined on the following page: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

 

They usually do thorough investigations and look at the history of comms associated with your account to see exactly what happened and where the fault occurs. From what I've heard they generally offer reasonable compensation where they have evidence that something or someone at Sky was at fault.

@sanlaf you're right, it's very weird, and I have no idea why Sky would have cancelled your service. I can only repeat others' suggestion to raise a complaint. Sky are contactable today.

Thanks so much . I'd understand if I didn't pay my bills, but my actually account is closed . Its bizarre. Thank you for your advice. Have a lovely peaceful Christmas.  Take care
