Sky cancelled but still taking direct debit

I cancelled sky in March. The box was sent back and received by them in May but they still took direct debit out for June to July. Direct debit then got cancelled by me and phoned as they still trying to get money out. After telling sky what had happen was told they would look into it and call back the next day. Of course they didn't and now they won't speak to me until I reinstate the direct debit. They have put a block on my account also.

@Martin+Hastings  How did you cancel?  Did you receive confirmation by email the cancellatuon was processed?

 

If Sky beleive you owe them money you need to reinstate your direct debit and pay what they say you owe.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Cancelled by telephone and all equipment returned to them. 
They have been over paid for a month already and looks like they are just going to keep taking the monthly direct debit for the foreseeable.

spoke to an advisor who said he would look into this and call back but hasn't bothered and now they won't speak to me when I call. 
Don't see why they can't speak to me to sort it out and just want continual payment for a service I haven't been receiving for two months

If the cancellation has been processed correctly you should have received an email from Sky acknowledging the cancellation as @GD1 stated.

I have a cancellation email. 
but this doesn't help with the fact that they won't speak to me

The solution is to reinstate the direct debit as you have no chance of getting this sorted out to your satisfaction until you do.

As we have stated you need to reset your payment method. If there's an outstanding amount on there you need to pay that too. Then Sky will talk to you. Of course any overpayment will be reimbursed to you but stopping the payment method wasn't the best thing to do. Not what you want to hear but it's the only way you will be able to call Sky.

@Martin+Hastings  You could try blocking your number by putting 141 before sky's number or call from a number that isn't linked to your account 

 

but even if you get through they still might not be able to help as they will be blocked from accessing your account for the reasons already stated

I cancelled my Subscription and was told i had Paid everything due....still want a payment

Payments continue throughout the notice period and as bills are generated 14 days before the payment date this isn't unusual.
