Sky cancellation

I cancelled sky and they say I didn't do it in time but I did I wrote to them twice with no acknowledgement back . Now they are saying I owe them £795 for not cancelling in time .

Also they have charged me for not returning the equipment in time but they did not send the packaging and labels so I phoned and told them and the guy said he had extended the date to send the equipment back but when I phoned again to get a label that guy said there were no notes on the account !! He said he'd send out packaging and arrange a collection but I found the packaging jammed in the post box on the wall with two labels with two different addresses on so I phoned again having also phone earlier to check whether the package was going to be picked up today. I spoke to someone and told them that I have two labels with two different address on so which one should i use and is someone coming to pick up the equipment. Surprise surprise no I have to take it to the post office

now and use the label that says the following address: unitary sky returns

unit12 Hamilton Way Bermuda Park Nuneaton also I received a text saying I was being charged for not returning the equipment back on time when all the time it was sky messing me about.
I do not think I am liable for any of the charges and now I have just received a letter from a credit company on behalf of sky I think I'm owed a huge apology.

You aren’t contacting Sky here. This is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other customers.

What do you mean by not in time? Do you mean within a cooling off period?

Once you’ve successfully cancelled Sky should send out returns packaging (to the address where the account was active) near the end of any cancellation period (which is 14 days for broadband and 31 days for Sky Q) for any loaned equipment they are expecting back.

If the arrival of packaging is delayed, it’s damaged on arrival or doesn’t arrive it’s the customers responsibility to use their own packaging to return it. You can use any packaging as long as it’s secure and you may want to put a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment that is included. This link explains about how to receive an email with your return labels through Royal Mail.

Keep your proof of posting safe and indefinitely and if you use Royal Mail’s collect from home service, keep a record of the tracking number.

It looks like Sky have passed the debt to a debt recovery agency so you can only deal with them now. It sounds like there's more to this than what you've posted to have reached that stage.
