Sky are hopless

My sky has been cut off today after I spoke to a sky adviser Friday that he said it definitely wouldn't be going off to 18 dec where I have a cross over with another supplier I've rang twice today both times they say there's nothing they can do and now no broadband both my mrs and me business are suffering massively letting other people down as a sky adviser didn't do his job properly and sky wonder why so many are leaving them I've been with them fo over 20 years  i only decided to leave them as there are better deal than they can offer and my internet went down 27 times in just under 6 weeks

so for everyone out there bin sky off and go with a better provider

Unfortunately Openreach do occasionally carry out the camcellation/cease instructions early. The adviser you spoke to wouldn't have known they would do so and would have quoted the normal 2 weeks notice you have to give to cancel.

By the way, business use is specifically disallowed in Sky's terms and conditions (unless you have Sky for Business which this forum doesn't cover). It's probably no different with your new provider.

Is the new provider using OTS?  In theory, there should be no loss of service but it's very difficult to guarantee this.

If the new provider is using a different 'line' then I would always recommend a period of overlap if you absolutely must have continuity.

However, as noted private domestic lines do not have any uptime guarantee.  If you are moving to another firm that uses the same OpenReach line then the same issues may persist.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
