Re: Sky VIP a waste of time?

Absolutely "Sky VIP" is a waste of time. Nothing but dubious competitions or tickets to something far away I wouldn't want anyway. The whole thing is carefully crafted to be NO COST to Sky, but the over-the-top advertising claims you're getting something worth having in return for your loyalty. It is all so cynical it makes my blood boil.

IF YOU WANT TO REWARD ME, TAKE SOMETHING OFF MY MASSIVE SKY BILL..

Firstly if you aren't happy with the cost of Sky cancel it, no one is forcing you to subscribe to Sky services.

Secondly there have been plenty of free things last year on Sky VIP that aren't location dependent. At points last year they had both 12 months and 6 months free of Paramount plus (great for the non Sky Cinema subscribers), 6 months free Apple TV, they normally on a monthly basis have a free audiobook. A couple of times a year they give free movies from Sky Store, in additional to the odd Tesco voucher giving £2 off chocolate.

thats not to mention the ballots they run for cinema tickets, shows and sporting events and the competitions they run. Yes winning anything in these will be hard due to the number of people entering but you can't exactly say this is nothing. Is someone likely to want all the offers and prizes no but there is usually something for everyone available every few months.

Sky VIP doesn't, and never has had anything to do with subscription costs.

If you're 'out of contract' re-negotiate or cancel. If you're in contract, you've nothing to complain about, as you've agreed the subscription price.

I've been checking the Sky app for around 3 months now and apply for anything that takes my fancy. I have won Newbury races tickets and theatre tickets to a Motown show. I'm chuffed to bits! Please check the app on a regular basis and enter everything going. You get the option of turning tickets down which will go to the next person. You have nothing to lose as its free to enter.

I'm really pleased for you but competitions are promotions that cost Sky probably nothing. They shouild be open to all Sky subscribers. A reward for 26 years loyalty should have an immediate value, something you can take to the bank. It need not be of great value., just something I don't have to COMPETE for. Too much to ask, I know.

The vast majority of Sky  customers are VIPs.
