Sky Rental

I find it hard to believe that my Basic Rental has jumped from £35/mth to £42/mth, then a text infiomed me that it will be rising to £53/mth; to cap it all a gentleman informed me by phone last Wednesday, it will be £90.40/mnth, if I heard him correctly. I hardly use Netflix, I don't have Sports, I use terrestrial channels and, occasionally, Sky Nature and Sky History, if the £90.40/month is correct, it is disgusting, and I wish to cancel my contract; I'm NOT going to pay that amount of Rental;it does not represent good value. I have been with Sky since 26/8-2022 Please do not ignore this email, thankyou

@KenPreston

You haven't emailed Sky or anyone else here. You’re not talking to Sky Customer Services. This is a customer based forum where customers try to help other customers.

To cancel all your TV subscription, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term.

Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

Return packaging will be sent out near the end of your notice period. Obtain proof of posting and keep it safe and indefinitely.

What email?    You've posted in a public forum, this isn't a direct route to Sky customers services, nothing will happen as a result of your Post.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@KenPreston I think you misheard. The out of contract price for the base Signature package + Netflix is, I believe, around £40. Nowhere near £90, unless you have other subscriptions you haven't, mentioned.

Could certainly be around £90 if Sports and Cinema are included in the package. However if you do not watch Sky Sports or Sky Cinema i'm not sure why you would be subscribing to them. Certainly easy enough to give Sky a call and ask for any additional add-on packs like Sports and Cinema to be removed, if you are outside the minimum term contract, or approaching the end.
