Sky Q price increase after 2 months
Hi all.
A long-serving Sky Mobile customer, I took out Sky Q in September.
I noticed that my Sky signature price has now risen from £32 per month in September and October to £34 per month in November. When Sky wrote to me with my email when I joined and it says £32 per month. There's been no mention of £34.
Sky have not written to me to inform me that the price was going up by £2.
When I spoke to Sky on the phone today to query this, I was told that it was due to the inflation increase from April.
I was told that I was part of the "sky universe" as I had a mobile contract with Sky and that it also applies to my TV package. I said why didn't that happen in September and October and they said the increase is from April so can start for every customer in any month from April onwards.
Is that right?
I notice the contract says they can only put prices up once every 12 months so does that mean any April increase in TV price can't be applied to me now?

@Matthew9517 What does your December bill show?
The 1st 2 bills may be higher as they may cover longer periods, what does your current bill show?

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
I'm talking about only the price for sky signature, not the overall bill.
I don't understand why it goes up after 2 months.

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
Hi @Matthew9517 Two months coincides with the 60 days promise before the annual price increase is applied.

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
Thanks, I'll have to read up on what that is. Do they not need to tell me when they increase the price, I'll have to pay more attention to the bill each month!

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
@Matthew9517 Personally I would be challenging that, any package taken out after April should already include the price increase, I'm pretty certain they can't legally advertise or apply pre increase prices 5 months after a price increase has happened and then use that as an excuse to increase prices just 60 days later.

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
So the update is that sky have confirmed today that this is my annual increase so they can't do another one for 12 months. I guarantee that I'll get an email in March telling me my prices are going up, that will then be a fun conversation!

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
@Matthew9517 I would 100% challenge it, you shouldn't be subject to any increase until April at the earliest. Any price advertised or offered after April has to be the new price(minus any discount offered).
Saying that the price offered 6 months after the annual increase came in to affect doesn't include that increase simply can't happen and may well be illegal.

Re: Sky Q price increase after 2 months
I began a new 24 month Sky Signature with HD contract in late March 2025 with a discounted price of £26.50 per month. Just noticed they've charged me £29.50 in September and then £31.50 from October onwards ? No notification or reason for this and their customer chat person had no believable explanation but thanked me for being a 25 year VIP subscriber. Anyone else had this situation ?

That's quite common. The annual price rise occurs in April for all UK customers. If you join or renew around that period the proposed increase is usually deferred for about 4-6 months and is then applied. It's kind of a grace period so you don't get hit by the price increase immediately. Your next increase (we have to assume there will be one) will be in April 2026.
