Sky Loyalty

My contract with sky (broadband, tv and talk) was €65 per month as a new customer and has now gone up to €125 per month.  I dont really want to move as the service is generally very good.  I spoke to someone in sky who said they could reduce my bill to €85 and I said I would like to shop around.  We decided to stay with Sky even though I can get a similar package with EIR for €60 but their customer service in on of the worst I have even has the mispleasure to deal with and when I finally got speaking to someone else in sky, I was only offer the same package for €115.  They had no record of my previous call or offer of €85.  This is crazy customer service!!

I'm afraid you have to accept these offers at the time. As you've found out if you say you'll think about it they are usually no longer available.

Unfortunately offers from Sky change on what seems like an hourly basis and depend on who you speak to. All you can really do is keep trying to negotiate until you speak to someone who can offer you a price you're happy to pay, otherwise if you're out of contract just ask to cancel. When you're in your 31 day notice period you're more likely to get a better offer to stay.

Re: Sky Loyalty

That's not all that has been said however. The price may have changed but to be told that there is no record of previous call or offer is either dishonest ie just a quick brush off or poor systems at sky. One thing to be told that a particular offer is not available now quite another to deny any such offer or record of it.

sky service used to be really very good, now it's sinking fast due to Comcast cost cutting.
