Six month TV package contract renewal
My current 18 month contract expires next month. I am looking to move house this year and so do not want to sign up for another 18 months. I have not found a new house yet and so have no idea what services will be available.
Is it possible to sign up for just a six month contract for my TV package to extend it until I know where I will be living?

Re: Six month TV package contract renewal
Sky only offer 24 month deals now but you could continue with a non discounted deal once your offers expiry and you'll be able to cancel if necessary (but by giving 31 days notice).

Re: Six month TV package contract renewal
You could ask, but it's unlikely. You could continue 'out of contract' on a rolling 31 days notice basis until your plans are settled. It will be dearer, though.

@Bobster24 No , but your contract doesn't end until you cancel it, it converts into a monthly rolling contract at full list price so if you want to continue with sky and not renew just yet that would be the way to go
note renewals now come with a 24 month minimum term

Re: Six month TV package contract renewal
You're probably best just staying on a rolling contract and paying more until you move and then commit to a new contract or move services then. You don't need to do anything for this, once your fixed contract ends it becomes a rolling one unless you sign up for another deal.

Re: Six month TV package contract renewal
Thank you for all the feedback. In case anyone else looking at this is in the same situation, I thought I would post the outcome of my conversation with Sky.
As leaving the contract to expire and roll on would have involved an increase in an already hefty monthly charge, my initial plan was to cancel the contract and look at something from NOW TV as I already have the basic channels and apps available on my TV. Phoned Sky and they were very helpful. They have a basics package for just £10 a month which will allow me to keep my qbox to record programmes, which I find useful, and has a range of channels, although obviously not things like movies. It has no contract so can be cancelled at any time. I am switching to that when my current contract expires and may supplement with NOW Movies package as they do discounted six month deals.
My partner has Virgin at her house while I prefer Sky - we will doubtless have a debate over which package to have when we find a new place together.

Sky Television Essentials, which covers the free to air satellite channels and their corresponding on-demand services.
Not to be confused with Sky Essential TV on the Stream platform.
