Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI wouldn't worry to much what other people are paying it is what you consider value for money so if you believe it is to high then give Sky a call to see if they can give you a discount and if they do you will need to make your mind there and then and it will come with a 18 month contract.

That would seem rather high but not impossible: even at new customer discount pricing it adds up rather quickly
gigafast broadband £45
sky signature £26
movies £12
sports £20
talk weekends and evenings £5
£108 (plus HD & UHD / Multiscreen for another £22?)

That's a proper slap blimey!
I renewed just before Christmas and was very satisfied with what I negotiated with the Retention Team at the time.
Also worth bearing in mind that I am more than happy with the BT fibre to the property we're locked in to so I got this deal on the understanding that it's exclusively for TV, nothing else.

You really should mate as that's a lot of dough you're paying there.
Just for reference I did actually cancel and was about 2 weeks, maybe even 3 weeks, in to the 31 day notice period when I got a mail offering me a far better deal.
I have just checked my inbox and though I've got the confirmation of my new 18 month brief from the end of November I ain't got the 'please come back to us' mail from that day or the day before.
I've got a feeling it still wasn't quite as good a deal as what I got in the end but it obviously encouraged me to call them and thrash out the best deal I could.
They know people are getting whacked hard by the cost of living dramas at the moment so if you proper dig your heels in by taking it to the very brink of leaving you'll get a much better deal.
Only advice I'd give you is to hold your nerve so they see you are actually leaving which then triggers the system to keep hold of you and the retention team become far more flexible.

Just got it down to £136.50

@manutdnick still way way too much mate as far as I'm concerned, of course it's down to what you personally think is okay but for me that's totally unacceptable.
You've seen what I'm paying for Sky TV whilst for Fibre 500, anytime landline calls, 2 sims with unlimited calls, SMS + 4GB each(doubled up to 8GB for free through Halo) I weighing on BT just over 56 quid a month.
You can definitely do much better geezer, you really can.

I don't know how i can get it lower tbh

@manutdnick well as I said yesterday, just call Sky and cancel everything. Once the cancellation wheels are in full motion they will start lobbing improved offers in your direction to stay on board.
