@SKEL2

A good few people are being sent these emails because Sky can not refund you do to their being no payment details in place on the account so that is why they want to send you a cheque which they can only do once you phone the number to confirm your details.

Refund email from Sky.. is it a scam?

Hi I just got an email from Sky asking me to ring to arrange a refund. Is this a legitimate Sky email?

Yes. Should be an 0808 number, if I remember correctly.

@Chris99

If it is asking you to call an 0808 number and it is addressing your by your actual name then this will be from Sky. So if you haven't changed addresses since you left Sky then call the number on the letter and then a cheque will be sent out to you.

If you have moved since you closed your account with Sky then you need to follow what it says in the email and call the 0808 number shown on it then a cheque will be sent out to you.

@Taffman61

It's genuine. Confirmed by staff on here. You have been sent it because Sky have been unable to apply a credit that was/is on your Sky account. I presume you've cancelled your payment method. As long as you're still at the same address call Sky on the number on the email and they can get a cheque raised.

Re: Suspicious Email - Repayment of Credit Balance

This is a scam. I checked with Sky on their real 0300 phone number.
