Refer a Friend (Friends and Family) - Not eligible for voucher?

Hi,

 

This is quite a long story, so I'll try to give all the relevant details in bullet points.

 

  • Moved house and joined SKY (TV, Broadband) Oct/Nov 2024 referred by a friend, voucher claimed, received and redeemed.
  • Joined SKY mobile April 2025 - referred by a friend - No voucher received
  • Contacted Refer a Friend (Friends and Family), voucher sent - tried to redeem but returned an incorrect code.
  • Contacted Refer a Friend (Friends and Family), suggested I speak to helpdesk-UK-VBR @ edenred. com
  • helpdesk-UK-VBR @ edenred. com told me the code had been used in 2024, so I searched my old emails and found the code was  indeed the old original one (for joining SKY, TV and Broadband)!
  • Contacted Refer a Friend (Friends and Family), told them they sent me the old voucher and this was for the new mobile contract.
  • The reply I received was that they do not send vouchers for additional services...
  • Contacted Refer a Friend (Friends and Family) to give them the information FROM THEIR WEBSITE and was again told the same

"Regarding your query, while the website states that mobile contracts are eligible for rewards, our terms and conditions specify that additional subscriptions or services do not qualify for further vouchers. This includes your Sky Mobile contract from April 2025."

 

They are saying "our terms and conditions specify that additional subscriptions or services do not qualify for further vouchers" and this is on the SKY website (from this page: Refer a friend | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com)

"Referrer

The friend you refer must be a new Sky customer"

 

However, from the same web page I was referring to this:

 

Eligibility

As a referrer, you’re eligible for a reward if your friend is a new customer subscribing to Sky Glass, Sky Broadband or Sky Stream, a new customer subscribing to Sky Glass, or a new or existing Sky customer subscribing to Sky Mobile for the first time.

 

So, they seem to be saying that although mobile contracts are eligible for rewards, they think that as I am an existing SKY customer my referral doesn't qualify.

 

But on their website it states that I CAN be an existing SKY customer and the referral will get the reward as I took out a new mobile contract!

 

Now, I have looked to take this further with SKY but cannot find anywhere to email this specific problem!

There will be no specific email.  There is a generic refer a friend address on the page.

 

Alternatively, your next option is to start a complaint:

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
