I cancelled my contract over the phone and am now being chased for payment. How can a customer prove that this happened when Sky don't send any confirmation ?

Sky do send confirmation of cancellation.
What services are you being charged for? It's common to be billed for a period beyond the date your services end because of the way Sky's billing system work and Sky will indeed chase for payment.
Obviously any charges you pay after the date your services finally end will be refunded.

When did you put in your cancellation notice as with Sky TV you have to give 31 days notice so right up to the day your service is cancelled you are billed as usually then once you have left any credit can be refunded to you.
