Phone Sky and see if you can do a deal @robert16901
To contact Sky
Select Need more help
at the bottom of the following link and this will lead to a phone contact.
Ignore all automated messages and wait for an agent

My SKY contract is costing me too much - £71 for Q box Broadband and landline phone. Contracts end on March 2023 - what's the best deal I can get if I tell them I will leave if I can't get an affordable bundle? Any others with that experience? I could end landline and use my smartphone instead.

Nearer the end of your discounted period you need to contact Sky to try to negotiate a new deal which will require another minimum term contract. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount but if you sort something out to your satisfaction make a note of the date it’s ending.
You can either call Sky or use the following link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
This link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/been-overcharged may also help.

It's probably too early to recontract but you can try. If you cannot agree a price you are happy with then give 31 days notice to leave. This may unlock better deals but no guarantees.
If your broadband is delivered over a landline (most are) then you may not be able to cancel the line as such - but it's the total price that's important. (You don't have to have a calling plan for example)

£71 for both plus a landline doesn't sound so bad but you might get a reduction if you commit to another 18 months.

Thanks for your info. I've just checked and I pay £14 for talk anytime and voicemail which I can do without. Do you know if these are in the contract and can they be removed during the contract?

If and when you re-negotiate tell Sky you want to move from Sky Talk Anytime to Sky Pay As You Talk whereby you'll only pay for any and all calls you make and that you wish to remove the voicemail add on. You could always purchase a phone with a built in answerphone.

No, you should be able to remove them now, if you wish.

Thanks - I have removed Talk and Answerphone without incurring an in-contract charge. Not easy to get through the system and the Indian call centre lady was barely understandable.
