It's not easy though. To fill the form in she mentions you have to know your account number ( I have two apparently which I didn't know) otherwise you can't progress the request. Sky are making this as difficult as possible in my view. It took me half an hour to do the things she mentioned in her post. She didn't say the privacy notice was in small print right at the bottom of one of the screens. Took me ages to find it. In my view Sky are trying to make this as difficult as possible to opt out of these arrangements.

We too are very angry that Sky are going to share so much of our information which also includes our names addresses dates of birth email & any phone numbers they hold,it is utter betrayal to their customers we are trying to discover by them doing this if they are in breach of contract?
The only action you can take is to go into account settings and opt out from all communications email, postal, calls personally I still no longer trust Sky to hold back selling our personal information on !

We think the word SHARE should state SELL as let's face it Sky will make Millions £ from our data 😡

Many thanks to all of the Sky Community who responded to my original post about the email from Sky announcincing sharing my data with social media and Sky Protect. Although many agreed with my outrage that this is wrong, none provided a solution to having this stopped. A coulple directed me to Household communication preferences but this does not cover sharing data - just the means of Sky communicating with customers (which I switched all off some time ago when I was bombarded with marketing etc from Sky).
So, does anyone have a suggestion on how I can opt out of the sharing my data?

It was easy enough to find with the instructions given. Your account number is shown when you go to 'Bills & Payments' and click on one of the options. I've got 4 which presumably is TV, mobile & an aborted Glass purchase plus a.n.other.
That does raise the question for @Chloe-W22 of whether we need to put multiple forms in, one for each account number or is one enough?

If you turn all contact off will that affect any offers from Sky if putting your cancellation in? No phone calls, texts or emails for instance?

It's not possible to 'turn all contact off': data protection doesn't give customers a right to to opt out of (for example) billing communication, demands for payment and lawyer / debt collector letters, for fairly obvious reasons.
Renewal offers might well count as 'marketing' though.
