Raised price one week after renewal agreed

I agreed a new 18 month contract last week and a monthly amount.yet today I receive a price rise is this acceptable

It would have helped if you mentioned that originally.... In that case, it's not 'acceptable'...

Price increase is effective from 1 April every year.

It's the most unfortunate time to renew a contract as it won't include the 1st April price rise.

 

It's 'acceptable' because the contract allows for it.

...although slightly disingenuous perhaps as the increases were known at the time.

 

When I renegotiated in a similar position they could give me the post-increase figures whilst agreeing it.

@Garbo Did you agree the deal over the phone? If you did then I would suggest calling Sky again and asking them to listen to the call so they can confirm what was agreed.
