If you have recieved a call from 'sky' telling you you have a discount on your package since you have been a customer for for example 10 years and will have a gift of a free watch or phone BLOCK THE NUMBER AND DO NOT REPLY . It is a SCAM.
Just this week my parents recieved this call and went forward with it and gave their details to their sky account. Once they had done this, we recieved 2 packages from 'sky' at our address and had been called OVER 20+ TIMES from multiple numbers. This was the scammers attempt making a sense of urgency. They then told us we need to return both packages as it was the 'wrong ones sent' and not the 'free watch'. They will then do 1 of 2 things or BOTH in my case.
1. Send you a return code and tell you to go to a post office to 'return' the packages to a 'sky' depot which are containing VERY VALUABLE TECH like IPADS and SMARTPHONES which instead actually go to an address which is not disclosed and stash the packages for themselves.
2. They pay for a courier to come pick up the items, PLEASE NOTE THE COURIER IS NOT AWARE OF THE SCAM AND DO NOT KNOW THEY ARE BECOMING A MULE, but do not open the door and let them get on with their job.
Now you may be thinking where is the scam? They order these valuable items on your account and then once you 'return' them to their 'sky depots' they keep it and sell it for free whilst you get charged for the items.
Thankfully, I caught the scam just before my parents could return the packages SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you are not getting scammed or your parents as this targets the elderly who are not to sure on what are scams and what isnt . I posted this to bring awareness to this scam and as long as it helps atleast 1 person I will be happy 🙏
if you have had a similar experience please comment on this duiscussion

Re: READ THIS IF YOU HAVE RECIEVED A ' DISCOUNT AND FREE WATCH' SCAM CALL
Unfortunately this is an increasingly common scam mentioned frequently on the forums.
They try to obtain sufficient details so that they can order an expensive mobile phone or similar under your details which subsequently gets sent to your address. The scammers then recontact you saying they've made a mistake and to send it to a (non Sky) address. They then have the device and you have the bill.
It's worth adding that with any unexpected calls from Sky if the caller asks for your telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which a genuine Sky agent should in my opinion) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.
