Price Freeze broadband - now price increase letter arrives

When I signed up for my BB several months ago, there was an 18 month price freeze promotion. Today I received a letter telling me my BB is going up by £3 per month. Could someone explain WTH is going on? Is this Sky amateur hour?

@Walkman
There is an annual price increase in April, the same as in previous years. It’s allowed through your terms and conditions which you’ve agreed to. Sky can increase prices once in any 12 month period. Your contract is not a fixed price but your discounts are. The letter should give you options including being able to cancel broadband penalty free within 30 days.

When I signed the contract, Sky had an 18 month PRICE FREEZE, not a Discount Freeze. I confirmed this with them before signing up. There was to be no price increases over the term of my contract not even CPI plus whatever %.

@Walkman  You'll need to take that up with Sky directly I'm afraid as we are not privvy to any deals made with customers.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

I don't recall any such promotion, and with both interest rates and inflation going up throughout last year it would seem an unwise commercial offering.

As you have said @Walkman "I confirmed this with them before signing up. There was to be no price increases over the term of my contract not even CPI plus whatever %."I would suggest you check your future bills and then if necessary contact Sky Support to request the call be checked.

Passing on the tips I have learned in over 24 years as a more than satisfied Sky customer.

ISP Review had a story indicating there was such a time limited offer last year.
