Potential scam

My dad had a man at the front door today with some form of ID, not from Sky himself but hes not sure where he was from, this man said he was from somewhere that was helping the council and gouverment regarding the price increases from Sky that are apparently coming in June? My dad was silly enough to allow this person in the house and via my dad giving him the pin for his sky box he apparently showed him on the tv a bill apparently that showed what he currently pays and what apparently its going up too, I myself am not aware of anyhow you can show any bills on your tv or skybox, my dad told this guy as he isnt fully tech savy that he should come back later today at 1730 to see myself when i would be home, the time has come and gone and no person appears, i've since changed the sky box pin just for assurance but i was wondering about this as it sounded really dodgy to myself, any help would be appreciated

I don't know what box your father has got but it is possible to view your bill via it but I'm with @GD1 as there is no way this will be from Sky as it could be someone else fishing for trade as it sounds like they are doing the whole "you can get more stuff for less with us" sales pitch.

@TheAnchorman  I'm not aware that Sky are doing door to door sales, it was most likely a salesman from a competitor at best.

Sky certainly wouldn't employ anyone to go visit people on their homes thats for sure.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Hi @TheAnchorman

Thank you for joining the Community 😀

We don't have door-to-door sales people any longer.  We're not aware of any durvey's being done on our behalf either. It sounds does like some form of salesperson.

Thanks
Kev
