Poached by another provider who claimed they would "do it all", regarding leaving SKY... read on!
EE fitted a new affordable set-up, as my husband does not like Sky's prices which have escalated (for us) over the years.// SKY requested their boxes back and we obliged, proof of postings retained.// Now the Sky account is restricted, not cancelled. EE misled us? Sky are being unhelpful? // I now need to make a final payment to cover the Netflix that was linked, and cancel it. When I try to do that (autopayment, no humans available) by mobile and debit card, I am informed that the card will also be used for regular monthly payments to Sky and the service reinstated. // So I hesitate and dont do it, to prevent unecessary deductions from my bank, and ongoing financial issues... Unfortunately, I still owe the £50+, a debt which may be given to a debt collector. A debt I would like to pay!
Sky will not speak to me as there is an outstanding payment on the account - all automated, nothing personal.
To repeat: if I do, they will restart the payments for a service we do not have. // Sky will not recognise my current email address, active since 2022 and I cannot access the only one they have as my username, locked and unused since 2022.// i think I have managed not to put PERSONAL INFORMATION in this sad tale, which means, of course, that I cant get a reply here, either, as Sky cant send an email because they dont have it!!!!! Well, this is urgent, so a phonecall will do for me, [acc.(removed)]... I had to do that, in desperation.

@HappyPodder Your post has temporarily be moved as you've posted personal information (account number) in a public forum, you should never post any personal info in a public forum.
In addition no one from Sky will call you on the back of a community post.

Something doesn't quite add up here. If TV services were involved then another provider cannot 'do it all'. (Only broadband can be 'switched')
What boxes are Sky requesting to be returned? It's not clear exactly what services have been cancelled. (It's possible some are still correctly active and are due)
The message about future payments is clearly automated and may not apply if you do not owe any future payments...

If you had both Sky Broadband and Sky television, 'switching' to EE only moved the broadband.
The one-touch-switch system doesn't cover subscription television service even when both ISPs (typically Sky, Virgin and EE) are also television providers. Unfortunately you'd be far from the first user caught out by this.
Sending back Sky television boxes alongside their Hub (internet router) does not itself cancel the television subscription.
