On finishing my term, I was told I was in a new contract, Which I had no idea about

Hi, I recently called Sky to cancel my 18 months contract as now its the 19th month of that subscription. I was told that my contract now acutally run another 1 year because I got it renewed in January. I remember calling Sky on January to cancel my Sky sports add on which I only got for 4months and all the extra things I had on my account to the original value of my contract when I started it. No where in that discussion I was told that these changes would result in a new contract. As soon as those changes where done, I got an email telling me that my contract has a new end date (which doesnt make any sense). I called back Sky and they told me this is just autogenerated email from Sky system whenever there is some changes done to the account but my end date is same as initially. Now they are disagreeing on that. I feel like sky is fraud as there was no mention of new contract when those changes were made (and I was thinking i am just removing all the extra I got from and going back to original). And also after calling them to followup, I was misinformed.

Lodge a complaint and put a request in for the call recording, that will outline exactly what was discussed, don't just accept it.
