Re: November price rises to sky tv

I have just noticed my bill has increased by around £4 this month for Sky signature. I renewed my contract in April I was told no price rises until the annual increase in April 2026 I have discounts in place until April 2027 and I have had no notification of a price increase.

its a scam they get you to renew with assorts of discounts and promises and then randomly put up the price a few months later and the first you know is they have taken more from your bank. It's not acceptable and they need calling out for their underhand and dishonest tactics

@Steve2212

The annual price rise occurs in April for all UK customers. If you join or renew around that period the proposed increase is usually deferred for 4-6 months and is then applied. It's kind of a grace period so you don't get hit by the price increase immediately. Your next increase (we have to assume there will be one) will be in April 2026.

Why are you being an apologist for sky's underhand tactics I thought this was an environment where you could discuss issues without bias it doesn't help resolve issues if you just come on and defend them. I said in my original post that they promised no price rises before April 2027 without that promise I wouldn't have renewed . They have reneged on that without notifying me of the increase (something else they are required to do but conveniently didn't) it is patently wrong that a direct debit is increased without notice but hey you defend them

i will submit a complaint and we will see who is correct here

My reply should have referenced April 2026 not 2027

Not sure what makes you assume I'm apologising for Sky. You asked a question and I provided advice.

If you renewed on the phone give them the date of the call and they should be able to listen back on it to see what was said and agreed.
