My friend has no sky box but would like to watch sport, how do I get one for her?

Your friend would need to take out a paying subscription with Sky, Depending n what TV service they went for so Sky Q or Stream or Glass they would need to subscribe to the basic TV package before adding sports to it.

Anothwr option would be Now TV which is another Sky run company where it is possible to watch just sports.
