so it should be up to Sky to keep their customers informed of upcoming changes which they quite clearly do not do

Hi @Stuart9964    Do you mean like here. Or are you expecting Sky to call their millions of customers?

A lot of people seem to think that it is not up to Sky to inform people of the loss of channels.

Channels come and go on an almost weekly basis. Are you expecting a letter or email every time? Sky have never sent out letters or other forms of notification when channels close even back in the 90s before we had email/texts etc, why the need for it now?

Why can't Sky offer discounts the same as Virgin do?

Because it's a different offer. Sky gives you Discovery+ premium so you can watch on other devices, Virgin only gives you the EPG channels.

In other words, Virgin gives about half of the offering for about half of the price.

It's a different strategy, but it's the one they decided on.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

You talk about channels coming and going sure but Eurosport has been on Sky for over 35 years so I think it is a pretty big change even if you don't.  How Sky can increase prices this year is beyond me.

It is - but the relevant rights owners are looking to monetise their assets - especially in this new streaming era.  Live sport is big business.

Obviously, more people will look at Sky's offering and may no longer believe it offers value.  Subscriber numbers may head south as a result...

@Stuart9964 They can increase prices due to the very simple fact that it costs more to run their business, every business in the UK will have increased running costs this year and almost every provider out there is increasing costs.

Re: Loss of Eurosport

Why should you have to pay more for less.  It seems a little ridiculous to me.

That's an argument you need to put to Sky.

If you've not within a minimum term then give notice to leave.  Otherwise, see if you can convince Sky to do something...

Is there any alternative to watch cycling? The cost of TNT is a joke?

Eurosport closes down, and from april they put our bills up

February 28th Sky TV lost Eurosport 1 and 2. Now I always watched this and now it's gone they decide to put our bills up by a tenner. Who else thinks this is totally wrong and out of order. If not sorted out I'll be cancelling my contract
