Looks like we have found an account associated with your address

Just tried to sign up for broadband online but getting stopped by the account check - sky thinks there is an account at my home.

My father had Sky for many years but he died 5 years ago and when I took the house over I have used several other providers without problem and have never signed up with Sky. How do I get this cleared so I can get new service?

Are you using a different email address during the sign up process, if you are then you will have to give Sky a call about this.

Well yes I am using a different email than my deceased father.

The message did tell me to call Sky but that just got me to sales who offered me a worse deal than the one I found online so I declined.

 

I do still have access to my father's email so I could use it but then what?

His account will have been closed so you wouldn't be able to use it and even if you did remove it from that account to then use it with yours you could have the same issue as it might be finding the address for some reason and flagging up this error.

I am not sure which dept at Sky to contact to resolve this since I don't have an account to service.
