Leaving Sky. Is it always this hard?

Price increased so much I decided to leave Sky at the end of my contract on 4th Oct. I called them way back and thought all agreed.

 

Since the I've had numerous calls offering better deal, but too late as already signed up elsewhere.

 

Had mail saying broadband would be switched off last month, but called and they said this was incorrect and would be 4th Oct. Then last week all of my premium Sky channels were turned off. 
Another hour on the phone and most back on now.

 

just hoping tomorrow they will actually cancel everything and future bills showing won't be charged, as getting random mails suggesting otherwise, despite 4 calls and on each was confirmed as 4th Oct.

 

Had box arrive for Q box but nothing for broadband yet. 

Will everything finally go to plan or will I have to spend another few hours on the phone to sort out tomorrow / Saturday?

 

BTW after 24 years I get the impression Sky make it extremely hard if you want to leave. Spent hours on the phone so far
