Lack of clarity on price increases (Sky Mobile)
Anyone else find it difficult to fathom if and when price increases are or are not applicable to your SIM-only contract?
In Feb 2024, I took out a SIM-only deal for one of my children, and they applied a price increase the next month. I raised a complaint, and told them to listen to the recorded phone calls - Sky conceded that when I had spoken to their sales team in Feb 2024, they had stated categorically that the price was fixed for a year. They applied a credit to my account to cover the next 11 months' worth of overcharging that was going to occur on the billing. Apparently, they weren't able to reinstate the agreed pricing!
I now have a problem with the SIM-only deal I took out in December 2024: the terms were, unequivocally, that it was a fixed price for 24-months, but only a 12-month minimum term, and the contract stated the price that would be applied after the 24 months. I can now see from my upcoming March bill that a price increase is going to be applied, within the 24-month fixed price window.
The retention team seem to think this price incease is in line with the terms of the contract - even though the contract says that "Prices may increase, including during the minimum term, unless we've agreed a fixed price with you".
Come on Sky, your service is top-notch mostly but please get some clarity on this issue. A fixed price deal for 24 months is just that - a fixed price!

Re: Lack of clarity on price increases (Sky Mobile)
@JMS It is difficult to know exactly without reading the full details of the offer you bought. Most Sky contracts do allow for price increases part way through a contract and fixed price contracts are rare. You should receive an email or letter explaining the increase roughly a month before your billing date in March. The estimated bills do sometimes get amended so it isn't certain yet that you will be charged,
